On Labour Day, Sept. 4, 2023, Presgrove, 19, was discovered dead by a rural section of US-81 in Jefferson County. One year after he was last seen alive, the family claims that no one has come forward to explain how he ended up dead by the highway. He was last seen alive that evening at a party he attended with some friends.
According to his autopsy, the 19-year-old inhabitant of Comanche, Oklahoma, was naked, had an 8-inch head wound that peeled back a portion of his scalp to the bone, and had a fractured spine.
Oklahoma state police, who are still looking into the tragedy, said in a cover feature in this week’s magazine that they don’t think Noah was murdered but that they can’t speak further while their investigation is ongoing.
When law authorities first arrived at the scene of the accident, where two drivers had reported finding Noah’s body, they thought the gifted athlete and recent high school graduate had perished in a car crash, probably a hit-and-run.
However, the more detectives studied the scene, the more doubts they had.

As one of the first responders on September 4, Jefferson County Sheriff Jeremie Wilson recalls, “We can recreate it and make it make sense because we’ve had other people hit before.” “I didn’t feel comfortable with this whole situation.”
The circumstances surrounding the murder of Oklahoma boy Noah Presgrove, who was hoping to enlist in the military, remain a mystery one year after his body was found dead on a highway shoulder on Labour Day. His family is still seeking clarification on what transpired.
“All I’ve ever wanted is for him to have moved faster. Presgrove’s sister Madison Rawlings said to Fox News Digital, “I hope that he wasn’t in pain.”And my earnest wish is that none of the people you love were involved in his demise. That’s about all I can expect for his final moments; we don’t know if he was in pain or if it was caused by someone he loved dearly.”
A year is a long time, but it’s also a short time, and we are so tired and frustrated with everything already. However, I am aware of our compassion for everyone with knowledge. It doesn’t exist. They’ve got an abundance of time,” Rawlings remarked.

Noah’s brother, Dailen Presgrove, 24, says, “We won’t stop until Noah has justice.” He thinks that by speaking out, someone who knows what occurred may be motivated to come forward.
What happened in the hours leading up to Noah’s death?
Two passing drivers saw the adolescent lying by the side of Oklahoma’s Highway 81 in the predawn hours of September 4, sparking the tragedy that has engulfed Noah’s family and friends. On his head, blood had accumulated. “It looked awful odd,” one of the drivers reported to 911.
One of the two people who called 911 that morning was Tyler Hardy, who stayed on the site after reporting Noah’s body. The truck driver is informed by Hardy that the second caller came back and waited as well.

Hardy describes Noah’s physique as having “his back towards the road and his legs bent.” “His head was kind of just laid there right along, and his legs were pointed towards the ditch. Although he was lying on what would have been his right side, his entire body was aligned with the white line.
The boy died from “multiple blunt force injuries,” according to the autopsy report that People was able to get in May, although the exact cause of those injuries is still “undetermined.”
Interviews with several of Noah’s close friends and family have added to the autopsy’s details of his last hours on earth.
Noah’s family and best buddy, 19-year-old Jack Newton, claim that the night before he was discovered dead, Noah was drinking at a house party in Terral, Oklahoma.
At some time, according to an account of his death in his complete autopsy report, which was received on May 13, Noah departed the party and “rode an ATV ranger vehicle with several men that had a rollover incident.”
The report just stated that Noah survived and “returned to the party where he got into an argument,” providing no further information about what that “incident” actually involved. At a later period, he left the party without saying when.

Even though he claims to have been asleep during the celebration, Jack says he thinks Noah departed at 3:30 a.m. on September 4. About ten minutes later, another partygoer wrote on social media that Noah was “missing” and that nobody had publicly stated that he had been spotted alive since then.
Earlier, Dailen, Noah’s brother, claimed that while detectives have gathered partygoers’ texts, videos, and Snapchat conversations, the sequencing of events is still lacking. Kathy Bingham, the P.I. who is assisting the family, claims to have focused on two individuals from the evening and will be sharing her findings with law enforcement.
Avery Howard, the host of the party, is collaborating with investigators, according to a statement from her attorney, who declined to comment on particular inquiries. (Noah’s family claims that when Noah’s body was discovered, the party house wasn’t checked.)
Attorney Andrew Benedict stated, “The entire Wilcoxson family mourns the tragic death of Noah Presgrove.” “The Wilcoxson family has fully coordinated and cooperated with the law enforcement agencies conducting the investigation, and they plan to do so until the investigation is finished.”
What are the police still looking for?
Although officials are not “currently” looking into the matter as a murder, the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has previously stated that “the investigation is not over.”

In a statement released on May 2, Sarah Stewart of the state’s law enforcement agency stated, “Investigators have conducted numerous interviews and reviewed leads and evidence.” She also mentioned that Noah’s death case is still open and is presently being looked into jointly by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
According to Noah’s brother, “there are many conflicting accounts of that night.” The stories seem to be evolving as so much time goes by. At times, it seems as though they are reciting lines from a script. Nobody is easy to trust.
